On May 29, we headed south from Cabo San Lucas, reaching approximately 4 miles offshore before turning west and running parallel to the coastline.
While fishing in front of the Solmar area, a mahi mahi struck a ballyhoo bait, resulting in our first and only landed fish of the day.
Continuing on a 270° heading, we hooked another mahi mahi on a “petrolero” lure, but the fish came off just before reaching the leader.
Upon reaching the Lighthouse area, we turned south again and worked the 5-mile line parallel to shore. Along this stretch, all the way to the Fiesta Americana area, we encountered approximately five striped marlin on the surface.
Despite presenting live bait, trolling lures, and multiple approaches, the marlin remained highly selective and refused to commit.
On the return run, we worked our way back toward Cabo, finishing the trip approximately 2 miles offshore before heading into the marina.
