On June 5, we headed south from Cabo San Lucas, working the 3-mile line along the coast.
As we passed Cabeza de Ballena, we spotted a striped marlin on the surface. We pitched a live bait to the fish and made several presentations, but despite showing interest, the marlin refused to commit.
We continued working the coastline, trolling parallel to shore all the way to Cerro Colorado, covering productive water and searching for additional activity.
On the return run, while fishing off Santa María Bay, a mahi mahi struck a ballyhoo rigged bait (rigger bait). After a solid fight, we successfully landed the fish.
