On May 14, we started the trip heading toward the Pacific side in search of roosterfish, but despite working the area thoroughly, they refused to bite.
After passing the Lighthouse area, we began trolling offshore, and within approximately half a mile, a wahoo struck a gold Rapala lure. After a strong run and fast-paced fight, we successfully landed the fish.
Continuing the troll, around 3 miles offshore, we hooked into a mako shark. After a solid battle, the shark was successfully brought alongside the boat and released healthy.
Later, on the return run near the Lighthouse, we had an unexpected surprise when a sailfish struck the rigged dead bait (rigger bait). The fish was fought and released successfully.
