We had a great day with Captain Manuel and mate Jose, making this one of if not the best offshore charter we’ve ever had!  The boat had everything you need without splurging for a big sportfisher, with a nice shaded open air gally with a table and bench seating, Bluetooth radio and speakers, cooler box with ice, and enclosed head.  The crew was friendly, laid back, and serious about getting us on the fish, and that they did.  On our full day charter we landed one skip jack, one dorado, one big wahoo, three big/bigger/biggest/ striped marlin, and had a forth on the line that shook the hook after an impressive display of acrobatics!  In fact all the marlin were big fighters, the first one taking over 30 minutes to land on the lightest of the tackle, all of which was tournament grade.  Make sure you’re in shape and not planning on a booze cruise if you want to land fish on this boat because they can put you into some heavy action!

Can’t say enough about the great job captain Manuel and mate Jose did during this trip.  About 10 minutes after getting the lines in the water we were greeted with a double stripped Marlin hook up. Strong fish putting up an excellent fight.  I have caught many marlins in Cabo and was really looking for Wahoo or Mahi Mahi.  Jose advised they had not seen many of either recently (fishing not catching, right?).  Next hook up was small Mahi I would guess 12-15 pounds.  Perfect size, just big enough two delicious dinners.  You could see the marlins dorsal fins on the top of the water and Jose did an expert job laying live bait right in from of them.  He finally got one to take the bait and we were on our third marlin for the day.  Another very strong dish putting up a great fight.  All marlins were safely released.  The seas were very calm early morning but picked up quite a bit late morning.  With Manuel at the helm the Black Marlin managed the seas quite well.  There was ample room in the fishing deck area with two fighting chairs.  The boat was very well maintained. Jose and Manuel are very personable and both have great command of the English language. If you want to set out on a great fishing boat with a capable and experienced crew that know how to put fish in the boat don’t hesitate to contact Manuel.  You will not be disappointed.

20 minutes into trip we landed first fish (bonita).  Later we ran into a bunch of dorado (beautiful fish!).

But the highlight was catching TWO marlins, one of which we let go and the other was kept as it was injured during capture.  The Captain made sure we got all the pictures we wanted… no rushing at any time.

We had a great time overall and would recommend them.

Captain Manuel and his crew were awesome from beginning to end and far exceeded our expectations. Booked a half day trip and right off the bat hooked a beautiful Skipjack, shortly after we caught a second which we released. This was followed by a gorgeous Mahi-mahi. The highlight of our morning was an 8.25 foot Striped Marlin! We will not only recommend the Black Marlin charter to our friends and family but it will be our go-to whenever we return to Cabo. This was our first fishing trip and first time in Cabo! Miguel and Jose were very patient and VERY helpful and did not give up on the slow start! They got us 2 trophy’s that we were looking for - my cousin landed a 51” Dorado and it was the most beautiful fish and shortly after they spotted a Marlin at the surface feeding and we managed to get it!
After a 30 minute fight, which would have not been possible without Captains maneuvering and Jose’s instructions, we got the 108” Striped Marlin in the boat!
We both got our trophy’s and the story’s to follow! We will be back and I highly recommend the Team of the Black Marlin!!!!
