We arrived a little early, and yet Captain Martin was there, waiting for us with a big smile, and willing to head out! I wasn’t sure what to really expect going into this chartered fishing adventure (would there be other groups, is this a big boat?)

Margarita Fishing is, wonderfully, a very intimate and personal experience. This isn’t a big, massive boat, with loads of people, which I loved. The capacity is 8 max- a great experience for a family or group of friends to have some fun and learn some new fishing tricks!

Martin was incredibly hospitable and informative and good fun. I really enjoyed how caring and educational he was with not only me, but also my little girl. Lots of jokes, lots of fun, lots of learning, and we really cannot wait to come back and fish with Martin and Margarita Fishing again! We also saw some sea lions and joked about the Pelicans eagerly awaiting nearby to see if they could grab scraps!

We came back with a big load of fish we caught, which Martin then prepared for us to bring home. We have a good few pounds of sea bass and Triggerfish wen can’t wait to cook!

The captain met us at the doc by the fish market and was early. He made sure we had what we needed and even went and got ice to chill the drinks. We headed out to fish and on the way he took us near a shrimp boat was working to get us up close to a group of seals for some pictures. We went a bit further and anchored. We had lines in the water quickly and after a short time we began to get bites. We caught some rock bass and a trigger fish or two. The area began to slow down so he took us to another spot about 5-10 minutes away and we anchored and down went the lines. Hits started coming pretty fast and we began reeling in nice size trigger fish and more rock bass. Got a harder bite and began fighting with what turned out to be a good sized pinto bass. We brought in some more trigger fish( great fighters) and all to soon it was time to head back. The captain had been generous with the time and we had stayed longer then we had booked for. He did not ask about more money and in fact never mentioned it but I noticed it and really appreciate the extra time We were able to be out fishing. He and the mate filleted our catch on the way back and when we docked it was bagged and separated for us so we knew what fish we were going to eat that night. I have been out on many charters and have almost always enjoyed them and had great service but this one stands out for both great fishing and quality service. The captain knew our names and took care to make sure everything was perfect for our trip. He was friendly and knowledgeable and the boat was coean and in good shape. The price was extremely reasonable and probably one of the best fishing bargains ive been part of. I would highly recommend this charter for whatever length of time you are able to go out and look forward to a longer trip in the future with them.

Captain Martin was waiting for me, got me front row secure parking, we caught several species of fish and even spotted 2 humpback whales! We even stayed an extra hour to see what the changing tide would bring in!
