1st day of good steelhead fishing.

Excellent fishing continues in Lake Ontario. King Salmon and Lake Trout came to the boat today in big numbers. Surface temperature in the lake was 53.6 degrees. Winds were light out of the south which gave us calm water during our morning session. Fish are starting to push off deeper as waters warm.

Afternoon session was spent in the river targeting smallmouth bass. Seasonal restrictions are catch and release only artificial lures only. Multiple double headers and even a triple header happened today. Despite high sun and heat the bite remained consistent.

We decided to switch from a morning to a afternoon charter. Residual waves from the past two day wind event were all but gone by the afternoon. Lake was like glass and we never stopped catching kings. Water surface temperature was 52.8 degrees.
