Craig was down from Michigan on vacation and wanted to catch something he had never caught, so flounder was on the top of the list, along with puppy drum and sheepshead. As usual, fresh live shrimp under a 4 Horsemen popping cork around structure filled the bill! Unfortunately a large i flux of fresh water into the bay completely shut down the HOT speckled trout bite we have on the last 2 weeks, so we didnt get his Inshore Slam. Per true Lazee Daze fashion we kept the boat in the water until every last piece of bait was gone! We threw back bunches of short redfish and sheepshead and kept just enough keepers for him to have a good meal.

Mom and Dad wanted to let the little one catch some fish and bring enough home to eat and Capt Dave made it happen! He tutored and helped the young angler learn to fish while the parents did their thang.. fresh live shrimp under 4 Horsemen popping corks did the trick. Released 31 smaller trout and at least a dozen rat reds with a few small sheepshead thrown in just for good measure.

Wind kept us confined to a small area on Bay St Louis, but we managed to have a great time catching sheepshead and even a couple rat reds and small flounder.. Customers didnt want keep their catch so i kept a few for the freezer ? an Inshore Special this morning that lasted 3 hrs and an Afternoon Special that we stretched 2.5 hrs throwing back fish after fish!!
