Описание тура

As we head into the second week of the new year our Fort Lauiderdale fishing trips are offering opportunities at some really large fish with good sized Mahi-Mahi, Sailfish and Wahoo taking baits within two miles of shore. We are thankful that there are some truly nice fish offshore as the numbers of fish we are catching in general remains below normal, with the exception of the Gray Tile fish out in over 400 feet, who continue to fill some gaps in the action. Some really good ones better than 5 pounds and it's nice to see these bottom huggers hungry. Not too sporty but fun. As for those larger fish we have seen some Sailfish in in our Fort Lauderdale fishing area within a mile and a half of the beach. They continue to be scattered in many depths but right in close along the reef line remains best. Our last couple were in 120 feet of water just above our inlet in clean green water. The bluer water deeper has held fewer fish and fewer bites in general. A good full grown Sailfish and fat Mahi-Mahi for Welf and his lady on a half day charter right up on the edge of the reef. Some good Wahoo inside of 200 feet of water and a live Bonito remains a good choice of bait fish for these speedsters. These Bonito are often running slightly larger than we would prefer and that does drop the hookup ratio, but they really get the bites. When we target the Wahoo and larger Kingfish with the live Bonito we do fish a treble hook or two as they come in very hot most of the time and a single hook or even two singles can result in a free meal and a limp rod. For Sailfish we go with the single circle hook which is wickedly successful, but those Sails do come to Bonitos on the trebles, and when they do and we strike them quickly to get them around the mouth and lessen the potential of damage to the fish that might be allowed to swallow the bait. A circle hook sets into the corner of the mouth on hookup on almost all occasions. A fast strike puts that treble meant for a King or Wahoo right up front as well. A caught Sailfish at boat side will often bend out a treble with the very smallest bit of additional pressure by the mate handling the leader, which is actually a great ending for the fish as we wish to release him anyway. The other very real side of trebles being we never touch the leader ( we use shorter ones when doing this) as that hook comes out equally easy on a boat side Wahoo or big Smoker sized Kingfish. There are good trolling days producing some good numbers but it can be tough many days. So we load up during the trip and set a “rack” of live Bonito out behind the boat with bigger aspirations and some big boys have been hitting. This is fun fishing and with rigger live Bonito fishing our anglers are welcome to hold the rod if they wish, just hang on and think big. A 30 to 50 pound Wahoo or Kingfish strikes with speed to burn and treble hooks more often than not get a piece of him right away and off we go. We love this time of year and these fish. Just don't touch the leader. Tight lines and as always good fishing to all from the Marlin My Darlin.

June report
June report
Июнь 9, 2026
Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report – June 9 Over the past couple of weeks we’ve hosted several large corporate events and bachelor parties, plus a few birthdays. Every charter has been memorable, with guests leaving raving about the experience. The seagrass has been tougher this year, making for some challenging fishing conditions, but the bite is very much alive. Target species and bite notes - Mahi-mahi, blackfin tuna, tuna, snapper, grouper, sharks, and sailfish are all actively chewing. As we head from May into June, summertime fishing is in full swing. Trolling - Reef trolling has been excellent when we can find clean water away from the seagrass. Expect mahi-mahi, kingfish, blackfin tuna, and the occasional wahoo. Depths of 100 to 400 feet have produced the best action recently. Bottom fishing - With grouper season open, bottom fishing has been outstanding. We’ve seen sizable gag and black grouper grabs in the last several days. The June full moon typically brings a strong mutton snapper bite as well. This is a prime time for bottom fishing trips. Kite fishing - Kite fishing has been slower due to heavy seagrass and dense seaweed plumes, which makes live-bait presentation tricky. Once we find clean water, kite fishing pays off with big-game targets like sailfish, hammerheads, sharks, mahi-mahi, and even wahoo. Offshore mahi - Northshore mahi fishing has been red-hot over the last two weeks. The seagrass has pushed schools into bigger groups and brought in some larger fish, with several 20–25 pound mahi reported. Offshore patches of seaweed and debris remain productive for big mahi and active schools. Conclusion June is shaping up to be a fantastic month as school winds down and we head into peak summer fishing. We’re excited to welcome new friends and returning guests for family charters, corporate events, and birthday celebrations at Marlin My Darlin. If you’re looking to book, we’re happy to accommodate you in any way possible. Contact Marlin My Darlin Phone: **hidden content** Website: **hidden content**

Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report: January 26, 2023 – Aboard the Marlin My Darlin Over the past few weeks, Fort Lauderdale has experienced some chilly weather, which has led to exceptional sailfish fishing! January is proving to be one of the best months for targeting sailfish, along with blackfin tuna, mahi-mahi, wahoo, snappers, and grouper. Overall, fishing conditions have been consistently fruitful here in South Florida. #### Kite Fishing: A Winter Favorite Our kite fishing technique has been outstanding lately. This method is particularly effective during the winter months, as it allows us to target large trophy sailfish along with a variety of other species as bycatch. The excitement of not knowing what will bite next makes kite fishing an exhilarating experience. #### Reef Trolling: A Steady Bite Reef trolling has yielded decent results over the last month, with several large wahoo catches reported. The blackfin tuna bite has been especially strong in the late afternoons and is expected to remain consistent through June. This technique not only provides steady action but also ensures a reliable supply of fish for our customers. #### Bottom Fishing: Hot Action Before the Cold Front Just before the recent cold front, bottom fishing was incredibly productive, with local boats reporting excellent catches of snappers, amberjack, and even a few shallow-water groupers. Snappers are a crowd favorite among our clients, and many love to take them home for a delicious dinner. #### Offshore Mahi: Slow but Steady On the offshore front, mahi-mahi fishing has been slower than usual. Most boats venturing into these waters have either caught undersized mahi or faced complete skunks. Historically, offshore fishing picks up around March and continues through October, offering much better opportunities during the summer months. ### Looking Ahead As we move into the next few months, fishing in South Florida is expected to improve. We eagerly anticipate the late-season cold fronts that will further enhance our fishing conditions. Stay tuned for more updates from aboard the Marlin My Darlin Sportfishing Charters. **Fort Lauderdale Charter Fishing Report: Aboard the Marlin, My Darling** This week, aboard the Marlin, My Darling, we're navigating the winds and choppy seas that have characterized the past couple of weeks in Fort Lauderdale. Fortunately, the fishing has been rewarding, with mahi-mahi, sailfish, and sizable blackfin tuna making their presence known. While trolling along the reef has seen some slower action, we've still encountered smaller Bonitas and the occasional wahoo. A few nice-sized blackfin tuna and skipjacks, along with mahi-mahi, have also been caught, typically in waters ranging from 100 to 400 feet just beyond the reef. Kite fishing has truly shined, especially under windy conditions. Large trophy sailfish, mahi-mahi, blackfin tuna, and even some sizable game sharks have been caught, making it a favorite winter fishing method. On the downside, bottom fishing has been quieter, though there has been a notable presence of smaller snappers around some shipwrecks. Noteworthy catches included a 35-pound black grouper and a couple of amberjacks from the deeper wrecks. Offshore, mahi fishing has been sparse due to a lack of debris and fish activity. However, December brings anticipation, as it's typically a productive month. The post-Christmas period is our peak season, so we encourage you to book your charter early.
