Off to a great start!

Season kicked off June 1, and we already have fish here. They will build. A nice mix of size which is a welcome change from last year when smaller, fun fish were tough to come by. Some real brutes last season. We have a nice mix of bait that should draw fish in close so c'mon down and hook one up! Bob

Another boat limit of large haddock yesterday (105 keepers) the biggest was 25" and half a dozen 24"s. We anchored in 5 different spots and caught about 20 keeper haddock at eack spot. The bite died at low tide but picked right back up after the tide change.

Non stop haddock came over the rail all morning. We had the boat limit of 105 fish by 12:30 and headed for the harbor. The fish pool was won on the last drop of the with a 25" haddock that bit a blue/purple teaser tipped with mackerel strip.

First week of haddock charters was hot.

The bite was non-stop all week. Our biggest haddock was 30" and we reached our boat limit every day. Water temps were chilly 48-50F and air about the same with east winds and a little rain. Big haddock catches are typical this time of year but this week was above and beyond.

Dress for changing weather. It was a little windy and chilly. if you have water proof shoes I would recommend wearing them or bringing them. Pack a lumch and lots of drinks.

Not only was our fishing adventure top notch with Vintage Fish Company on the Northern Lights boat, but Rays Sea Food Restaurant also has some of the freshest, tastiest Haddock I have ever let melt in my mouth. A must! Rye is a beautiful area with gorgeous homes. It was a pleasure to have the experience this summer.
