What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Biloxi, Mississippi for the first time?

The Skippers Charter was a great experience. The location and boat dock was easy to find and plenty of parking. This crew takes care of all your needs. Inside seating was available if needed as well as a bathroom. The crew also cleaned the catch and was extremely skilled and fast.

Absolutely go with REEL THEARPY FISHING CHARTERS. Caotain was so helpful to two older women that most think should stay on the dock. We havecsime hreat memories grom this excursion! You can not go wrong with REEL THEARPY FISHING CHARTER!

We used Hook'n Line Charters on November 24 2025. Our captain was Nathan, and he did everything he could to make sure we had a great experience. If anyone is visiting Biloxi and wants to go fishing, I would strongly recommend Nathan, and if we come back again, we will definitely choose his boat again. Highly & strongly recommended.

Bring rain gear for unpredictable weather. Polarized sunglasses, sun screen, hat ,comfortable shoes , cooler for your catch and a positive attitude! The rest will be taken care of! Good luck, tight lines!!

The fishing guide didn’t show up and didn’t tell us he wasn’t coming. Said he sent an email but he is a liar. This Captain lacks integrity and is a pitiful liar. Avoid this guy at all costs. Better not to go fishing than to book with a liar that Lacks integrity. Mark Captain Leo off your list and try anyone else.

Can’t go wrong with choosing the skipper. Capt. Frank and the rest of the charter boat captains help each other get on the fish. It’s a type of camaraderie I have not seen on the water between guide services.

If you’re even slightly curious about trying a fishing charter, go for it — you don’t need experience, just a sense of adventure. With the right captain, it’s more than fishing — it’s a full-on experience you’ll be talking about for a long time!

Look up video’s for a reference about how to fish. Snapper or any other fish. Then ask the crew for advice. They will be glad to help, I am sure. Your success on on a fishing expedition is determined by how prepared you are. The captain and crew will do their part. Your part follows. Bring drinks, finger foods. Snacks, proper attire and sunscreen. The heat of the summer will test anybody. Need to hydrate profusely.

Hook up with Backyard Charters. CCptain Conner is honest and will not mislead you. If the bit is good or bad, he will be straight up. We got bit most all day, never a dull moment. Already planning another trip for some time in the fall.

Not sure because I’m not a fisherman per se just someone willing to spend the money to have a nice day out on the water, but it doesn’t seem like August is a great time for fishing in this area. We’re very lucky to have such a wonderful captain.

Captain Andrew is a great guide! Friendly and patient willing to teach or Let your own thing. He moves around to put you on the fish. He has a ton of experience and shares his knowledge along the way. I highly recommend this charter.

Be well prepared with Sun protection. Sun shirts, hats, sunglasses were all nice to have for our trip. If you think you might get seasick, and maybe even if you don’t, take Dramamine the night before.

Due to the high winds, we wasn't able to go Snapper fishing but Captain Brandon and Brandon made sure we caught fish. Highly recommend Shearwater. This was our 5th trip and we are planning a 6th trip with Captain Brandon and the Shearwater...

Offshore in a boat this small is not for a newbie. We had two newbie friends with us and they are proud of the bragging rights they earned. Definitely a trip for fishermen who will brave rough conditions to get the best memories and fish. If ins one. You will have many tales to tell. PS- one of our newbies caught the biggest Red Snapper

Ask to go out to the shipwreck. I caught 45 fish on a 4 hr trip! Captain was very knowledgeable, polite, and professional.

Listen to the crew. They’re professionals who know what you’ve caught simply by watching how your rod tip dances. Do what they say and you’ll catch fish.

Understand that you can’t beat Mother Nature! Applies anywhere take what you can get and enjoy your time on the water! It’s more than just catching!

the water isnt clear but that wont stop you from catching great fish. we came across a massive school of redfish and also caught cobia, spanish mackarel, and shark

Wear sunscreen and bring a light windbreaker. The weather was a little windy but absolutely beautiful!

Fishing is usually great, but never guaranteed. The people are great, and nature is beautiful.

Try to plan for a day that is not so windy. We still had a great time and caught fish though!

need to bring cooler with drinks, hats, sun screen, hand sanitizer for afterwards and maybe a old towel.

Bring your fishing game. I took two women and they been flapping their gums ever since. You’re not gonna have time to eat a snack so load up in breakfast and just fish.

Can sometimes be a tough bite but you will never go skunked and should have a couple of good dinners if you are keeping to eat.

Apparently the ocean is warm in August and it causes the fish to go out to sea farther. Next time I would probably want spring

We did an 8 hour tour and thankful we went with an extra car of water instead of beer. It was hot!!! Even with the heat we would definitely go out again because the action was great
