We had great time. I brought a guy that had never done that type of fishing and loved it. The captain and crew went above and beyond to help people.

We took a 6 hr party/walk-on trip with 5 in our group, ranging in age from 6 to 55. It was about 1.5 hours out to the fish, but there was plenty to watch to keep the attention of the younger ones on the ride. Once it was time to fish, the crew did an awesome job to move a few members of our group to the back of the boat so we could all fish near one another. We bounced between a few different spots, catching 3 or 4 different species of fish, and the crew was always quick to help with tangles and taking fish off the hook. Our group had one of the fullest coolers on the boat with 14 keepers and about a dozen more we had to throw back because they were too small or out of season. We did have one person get a little seasick and he appreciated having the A/C in the cabin to get more comfortable. I’d definitely recommend this trip to any young families or groups looking for their first exposure to fishing on the ocean.

The boat captain and crew appeared capable and helpful. My commentary is about the condition of the most important part of catching fish. THE HOOKS!! Rusty and dull hooks do not provide a great fishing experience. Overall the trip was worthwhile but hopefully someone from the Eva Marie will address this issue.
