Only a couple fish caught but that was only because of the time of year I went.
We went on a long boat ride to watch dolphins, I guess. All three of us were really disapointed. We spent $1100 and didn’t get a bite. We were out about 10 hours and got to fish about 3 hours. Coming back into the harbor we get pulled over and the law wanted to see his log book and he hadn’t done them. Thank goodness they were in a good mood and let us slide
I would just like to say that this is fishing and it is never guaranteed. We traveled 100 miles to find tuna and yes we fished the dolphins. I cannot make the tuna bite. I tried the entire time on the tower to find the fish, it just doesn’t happen every time. Yes, DFW boarded us, happens almost every trip and yes my logbook was not updated because I could not log on in the morning.
This was not our first chartered fishing experience and to compare the two this trip was average in comparison. No “wow” factor. We did catch some fish but we felt there was a lack of experience. Nice guy!
Very sorry that you didn’t experience a “wow” factor but inshore fishing has been quite the struggle lately with Calico Bass fishing being the only game in town which we caught many. The local kelp beds are shrinking due to very warm sea temperature.I even tried to go look for a Dorado offshore to give a wow factor. If larger game fish was the preferred target then I suggest an island or offshore trip. Yesterday charter we caught large yellowtail and dorado on a full day trip. Joe made a comment as long as he caught something that he would be happy and he caught bass after bass. I hope in the future that I will make clear the objective of the day and make any alterations in the plan to accommodate the wishes of my charter group.
