El Vaquero is a good fishing captain. His boat is clean and orderly. He works hard to get fish on the line, a totally positive experience. We caught 3 jacks and some snapper. He even arranged for a large snapper we caught to be cooked for us at a local restaurant. All we had to do was show up for dinner.

My wife and I had a great day aboard the Vaquero with Capt Gerry.  We caught 10 species and lost a couple of others, including a sailfish.  The highlights were 3 yellowfin tuna and cubera snapper.  Capt Gerry provides good equipment, lunch and snacks. He speaks fluent Spanish and English.  He communicated well at booking and followed up to confirm reservations.  He was on time and prepared.  Capt Gerry helped coach us to make sure we caught as many fish as we could.  Most importantly,  he listened to what we wanted to do and set up the trip to cater to what we asked for.  After we caught more than enough to eat, Capt Gerry changed things up to go after rooster fish.  We also saw a bunch of wildlife to include whales, dolphin and sea turtles.  He was a pleasure to spend a day with, so much so we booked him for a second trip a few days later.  As a fisherman for almost 40 years, I can say this is one of my best days ever on the water.  I will fish with Capt Gerry and the Vaquero every time I am in Puerto Jimenez.
