I did the 6 hr fishing trip and had a great time. I had never been fly fishing before and thought I’d be able to learn on this trip but it’s harder than I realized. The captain showed me how and after about 15 mins of practicing, I realized I was wasting his time and mine so we switched to spinning rods. Then we caught 3 good sized tarpon (lost 2 more), 2 baby barracuda, and 4 mangrove snapper. The last 2 hrs we went into the mangroves for snook. We saw a ton but I’m not good at casting so I wasn’t able to get close enough. The poor captain was trying to pole us through the water and cast for me at the same time. He was so patient with my incompetence. I need to go home and practice casting and then come back to catch the grand slam. He was entertaining and had good English. Good communication with the office and the marina was only a 3 block walk from my hotel. Couldn’t ask for much more.

We decided to the do 8 hour trip to have the most amount of time on the water and the best chances of getting into some more fish. Mau (our guide) made it such a great day. He was very patient and informative on the trip. My girlfriend hasn’t fished since she was a kid and Mau was super helpful in getting her going and gave her all the tips she needed to land some fish! The fly fishing aspect of it is a LOT more taxing and challenging than I’m used to; nonetheless, we had a fantastic time! After a few hours, we switched to spin rods and got into some Snooks, Jacks, Snapper, and Mangrove Snapper! The cooler was FULLY stocked with water, Gatorade, all sorts of pops as well as the packed lunch! The lunch really hit the spot after being on the water for hours in the sweltering heat. I cannot recommend this charter enough and will definitely be returning to fish with Mau again!

My son and I went out fishing early on a cool February morning with Noel. He thoughtfully supplied us with wind breakers to wear over our light jackets.  He definitely knew his way around the lagoon and ran us to 4-5 stops over 4 hours. After 30 minutes of no bites using artificial bait, Noel used a throw-net to catch some bait fish and our luck improved. Catching a variety of different species on light tackle was an enjoyable. The 20 lb crevalle Jack was especially fun to bring in on light tackle.  The snook, and even the small barracudas were fun too. We had a great morning and it was a pleasure fishing with Noel.

Our experience with this charter was very good. Communication was great. The guide, Noel, worked hard to give us the best opportunity to hook up on fish. Switching techniques, moving from spot to spot, and catching some live bait to fish with. We did manage to catch a handful of small barracuda, which we enjoyed very much! However, Mother Nature, and the fish didn’t want to cooperate with us. All things considered, we would highly recommend them for inshore fishing. We totally understand, sometimes you go catching, and sometimes you go fishing. This trip happened to be a fishing expedition!
