The trip was awesome right from the word “Go”!! Capt. Don even reached out ahead of our scheduled trip date and time and offered/recommended that we go a day earlier… and it was great call.. The weather was perfect.  My lifelong friend and I took our sons ( they are God brothers) on the excursion. It’s something we’ll always remember.  We caught some huge fish, lost a couple of monsters, but the adventure was great. Capt. Don is an awesome guy. Well equipped boat, we went twenty miles off shore in no time!!  Well stocked with supplies rods and reels. We really enjoyed his guidance, expertise, and conversations.  Super nice guy and made sure he did everything to ensure the trip was what we expected. First mate Tyler was top notch as well. Great guy, hard worker, and great to talk to. He made sure all of us were prepared and ready to battle and catch. Even if we hadn’t caught a single fish, it would have been a great trip (but we DID catch some big boys..enough for many dinners). Tyler filleted the fish in no time.  I highly recommend Tried and True Charters.

My brother and I went on a gulf stream trip with Captain Don and had the best fishing trip of our lives!!! Don is a great Captain and made sure we got that “one last fish!” Not only did he ensure we got that one last fish, he made sure we got the fish we were fishing for. He is an A+ navigator and has an A+ personality! His first mate, Hayes, worked his butt off to make sure our lines were properly baited and always had bait on them. He knew the inside and outside of that boat and gear and made sure my brother and I were not kept waiting for any line to be properly put in the water.
I can’t say enough about these two! My recommendation is to charter a trip with them and let them help you find those fish you are yearning to catch!!!

Capt. Donnie took our family of 5 out on our first chartered fishing trip and he did not disappoint. We started near shore fishing for Spanish mackerel but then he took us several miles out to catch much larger fish. The trip was for my son’s 30th birthday and he certainly loved every minute of it. He can’t wait to do it again and is already planning another trip. We all highly recommend Tried and True if you are looking for a great day of fishing!

Capt. Donnie’s boat was large enough for my family of 4 to catch very big fish at the same time while bottom fishing in 100’ of water.  It was very clear from the start (until we were back at the dock) that Donnie and his mate, Tucker, truly love what they are doing . . . and they constantly went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable.  We went out on Tried and True twice this week, targeting very different fish each time; Donnie made sure we had the right equipment, baits and lures to catch what we were looking for until we were tired and wanted to go home.  If you don’t have a great time fishing with Donnie and Tucker, it’s your fault . . . if you ask, they will do everything (legal) they can to make you happy!
