Never done a review before, but this trip warrants one. I also know I’m the only one star review, but this is as much for him as it is for others. Full disclosure, two of us are licensed captains with years of experience. Booked Jack through Fishing Booker due to our original boat cancelling day before the tourn, read reviews, all good. Met him the night prior to the tourn at the capt. meeting, all seemed good, he was willing to get bait with us that night for the next day (although he thought getting live bait was a waste of time- big red flag). Went to his house to meet him the next morning, boat was awesome, well equipped with great electronics and decent tackle. Weather was snotty at best, 5-7’s, boat handled it fine. Jack may have a license, but he’s no charter captain, his chart plotter gave him away, same track to the same spots- one wreck that he’d catch a wahoo on, out to the hump, troll around, hit the wreck again and back home. Bragged he’d run and gun to find fish, never left his comfort zone. Caught one mahi and a small AJ, lost a small wahoo due to his inexperience with the gaff. He was rude and condescending to us, wouldn’t deviate from his routine even when given solid recommendations. He’ll probably get better as time goes on- if he’s willing to try different things and listen to others. I wouldn’t recommend him now.

Greg Sorry your experience left you compelled to submit this review. My decision to accept this trip last minute, knowing there was poor sea conditions expected was a risk I felt comfortable taking. As an experience captain yourself, ( as you say you are) you can agree that libations and rough sea conditions do not mix well and can effect the outcome of the fishing trip experience. The safety of all six passengers on board was and always is my #1 concern. As promised, I provided my skills and knowledge to the entire group. It is up to the customer to except them or not. Very happy you appreciate all the equipment Jesse James has to offer and I will take your feedback into consideration. Captain Jack
