We had a great day on Texas Bet with Captain Tyler and first mate Joey! They kept us on fish all day. They kept the big boys challenged and the little kids engaged all day. We snagged king mackerel, vermillion snapper, a shark, and filefish (possibly a junior state record)!

Captain and his mate were great. However beyond them not much was. Booked one boat and confirmed it they day beforehand only to have them arrive in a different boat not even advertised as one of their fleet or severely misrepresented. Captain had no clue about this and informed us the boat we booked had been down with engine problems. Would have been nice for the charter company to inform us of this instead of the captain being blindsided. And would have been appreciated if they had given us options instead of just sending a boat that’s seen better days with no electronics working other than the stereo and a small gps in the overhead of the center console. After discussion when we got home from the trip our consensus was we would not use Coastal Charters again because of lack of communication and because of that what felt like a bait and switch…pay for this yet and end up with that.
