We did the three-hour sunset trip, pike & walleye trip, 4-8.
My husband really wanted to fish while we were visiting Calgary and wanted to keep the fish to eat.  The fishing regulations allow 1 pike per person per day and within a certain length.  There are only a few lakes you can fish and keep the fish.  We went to a lake 80 miles from Calgary to fish for pike. Next time we go, we will book a hotel closer to the lake. 

I have never liked fishing, but now I am looking forward to going back. We plan to do ice fishing with Captain Troy.
Captain Troy was a great instructor. He is personable, knowledgeable, patient, helpful, and funny. He has a great boat and equipment. You just have to show up and maybe dress in layers.

Would definitely recommend this trip with Captain Troy, especially for people who have a partner that doesn’t exactly like fishing!

Would definitely recommend this trip with Captain Troy, especially for people who have a partner that doesn’t exactly like fishing! We caught a lot of fish both days. We got our pike limit of 1 fish per person - we caught 2 fish we could keep and 1 legal-size walleye the next day we kept.  If we could have kept all the fish, we could have filled the boat. We had a great time and my husband now has a wife who will happily fish with him.

The captain was a great guy. We caught a few fish but it was kind of slow. He mentioned just a week earlier they caught a ton of fish though.
