Over from Adelaide on a short holiday; wanted to experience Lake Taupo at its finest; and we certainly did. My wife was hesitant, however when she saw the boat and met the crew she was very comfortable and loved the experience. on top of the amazing weather, boat and crew, the fish were biting. We had an amazing day out with Captain Dan and Rhi! Very knowledgeable and very helpful. A great day of fishing, plenty of fish to take home, our three kids loved the day. We were also told of an excellent family business that we could take our trout to for deboning and smoking straight after our charter who were willing to courier direct to our home for a very reasonable fee. The boat was excellent, great size for a family of five and excellent facilities. Would definitely book again 😊

Capt Dan and crew Rhianna took really good care of us. Wonderful breakfast, great hospitality and patient fishing lesson. Caught some really nice rainbow trouts during the final hour after an initial barren spell. Kids were super excited with their first catch and the fish were cleaned and packed. Capt Dan even baked 1 of them for us to savour which was delicious. Overall a great day out at the lake with wonderful sunny spring weather and beautiful surroundings. My family of four booked a 6h fishing trip. Capn Dan, the skipper of MV Solamaar made our fishing experience a highly memorable one. He was very seasoned and highly experienced in his craft. It was a relaxing day on the water. Our time was spent enjoying the views around the lake, skimming along the water, feeling the cool breeze and interspersed by bouts of excitement and activity when a trout took the bait.We caught quite a few.
