Tarpon Lake is an amazing body of water!! The captain navigated us through his targeted spots and we were able to not only witness a big strike but also catch a couple of monster bass ourselves!! Including the captain!!
Great experience in these tough waters, especially at a time of year that we thought we were going to be unsuccessful.

Captain knew his stuff. Learned a lot and caught some fish. My son learned to throw buzz baits and spinn baits. Hand down best vacation fishing trip!

Capt Gary was very knowledgeable about the lake. The weather was a bit cold and windy. We move from cove to cove trying to find hungry fish, we ended up with 1- 4lber that made the day worthwhile. I’ll be back and hope for better conditions and Horizons Capt Gary will be my first choice.

The booking of this fishing charter was very last minute (I booked it 9 hours before going out on the boat). My grandson and I were visiting 7-towns in Florida, but a complicit arose so I had to come up with an activity that was closer to the town we where currently located. My grandson tells me at 8:00 pm that he always wanted to go fishing. I go online to research fishing charters. Fishing Booker is in my search. On Fishing Booker there are the various fishing charter companies. I choose to contact the company that had the more reasonable price; the company was “A Horizon Fishing Charters”. I placed my request to be taken out the next afternoon. Horizon Fishing Charters Tarpon Springs location was about 1 1/2 hours away from Lakeland so I wanted to give myself enough cushion time to get to Tarpon Springs and to find the marina. After I put in my request, I realized that the fish would not be biting in afternoon hours I had requested. I called Fishing Booker to have my trip hours changed to the early morning. At the same time I was speaking to the Fishing Booker customer service agent, Captain Brent was messaging me to change my trip time to the early morning hours because that is when the fish would be biting. First of several KUDOS for Captain Brent - his main concern is to make sure you have a memorable fishing trip. Once Captain Brent accept my request, there was some confusion as to where I was to meet him. On the Fishing Booker site it said his charter was in Tarpon Springs, but upon acceptance I was told to meet him in Kissimmee. Kissimmee is also about 1 1/2 hours from Lakeland. I called Fishing Booker to get clarification. They were a great help because they attempted to contacted Captain Brent on my behalf and they immediately called me back to suggest which location I should meet Captain Brent. I was told to meet Captain Brent at 6:00 am so I left our hotel at 3:00 am and arrived at the Kissimmee fish camp at 5:00 am. Second KUDOs for Captain Brent, he was on his boat and ready for us to leave at promptly 6:00 am. Only my 10 year grandson (who had never fished before) was fishing. Captain Brent was so helpful, patient and kind this first-ever fisherman. Third KUDOS for Captain Brent, he knew exactly where to find the bass. There was never a dull moment on the boat. My grandson caught a 8 to 10 lb bass and three 3 to 5 lb bass. Three other large bass got away. This last minute fishing trip was the highlight of my grandson’s 2-week Florida excursion. It was providence that brought my grandson and I to Captain Brent. Captain Brent was in Kissimmee that evening because he was scheduled to take two-couples out the next morning, but they cancelled last minute the night before. My request for that next day came in about a half hour after Captain Brent’s couples cancellation. My deceased husband was an avid fisherman, but I knew took to fishing because of all the waiting for the fish to bite. Going out on the boat with Captain Brent has soften my stance that fishing is boring. Fourth KUDOS for Captain Brent his knowledge about where and how to catch fish made the 4-hours out on the lake loads of fun.
