Caption Doug was amazing , his personality from the start we knew we choose the right captain. He is very friendly, knowledgeable, and makes the fishing experience a 10/10 . The only regret we had is not spend the whole day with him. He spoke about fishing , house that you see while going to the ocean. Good music positive attitude. We got lucky and caught a King Fish. Sometimes you don’t catch anything . Hanging out with him while having beers would have been worth the trip. We have nice cloths and didn’t get dirty. Some had Sandals and some had shoes . Bring beers and food. You can cook what you catch . We ate our catch we loved it .. Thanks again Captian Doug. We will return with the wife’s .

If I could, I would definitely give more stars to Capitan Doug. He had 4 of us on the boat. Everyone of us caught multiple fish species. Capitan Doug is a awesome fishing guide, definitely knows his craft, he put us on the fish in no time. I will definitely use his services next time. Over all fantastic time and experience on the water.

What started as a possible bust due to weather, turned into a great trip. Captain Doug Perez was as good as it gets for a captain and guide. He put my wife and I on the fish while making us feel safe and comfortable on a day with some gnarly sea conditions. 

We will use American Made Charters again!

Captain Doug was awesome.  He did a great job navigating the big waves the day had in store for us. We caught two wahoo and enjoyed the sun. We had great conversation and laughed a lot.  I would recommend him to anyone at any level of fishing.

Very disappointed….We literally went in 200-300 yard circles for 6 hours within 10 minutes of the outlet to open water. Captain opened up his bait and literally had 5 live fish which were all that got hit during the trip. He explained that they were $10 per fish, but I firmly believe he knew ahead of time that the big fish were ONLY going to hit live bait. We fished with dead silver eels for literally 3 hours without a single hit! Then within 15 minutes of using live bait we got a hit and landed 2 fish within 30-45 minutes and got 3 other fish to the boat. Lost 1 that threw the bait and 2 got tangled around other lines and broke. He seemed very irritated with my daughter that the fish got tangled in the other lines like she should have whispered to the fish that it should have gone the other way or something! Within an hour our live bait was gone and we went back to the same 300 yard circles with the silver eels. I paid almost $200 an hour for him to troll in a circle. I have fished locally offshore quite a bit and understand the boats are expensive and take a lot to run and I own my own lake boat but if I am going to charge somebody over $1000 for six hours and then expect a 20% tip on top of that I would do everything in my power to make sure they had a great time no matter what the bait cost to give them the experience of a lifetime. People go to a certain area to target certain fish (and I fully understand that you’re not always going to catch a fish) and for him to only allow us less than one chance per hour (5 live fish in a 6 hour trip) is ridiculous! And after the frustration he showed towards my daughter after getting lines tangled, I seriously considered having him take us back to the dock! My wife who was along for the ride and doesn’t care anything about Fishing couldn’t believe how little interest he showed in putting us on the fish or explaining to the inexperienced kids in the group how to land a fish once it was hooked. It went against everything in me to tip him and looking back. I probably shouldn’t have given him the 20% tip that I did because he certainly didn’t earn any of it with his service.
