The secret to a successful fishing trip in local Vancouver waters is undoubtedly Captain Chris Speed. I have been out fishing with Chris at least twice a year for coming up on 7 years. I have taken family, friends and clients. Not once have I left disappointed. Chris is incredibly knowledgeable, hard working and a great guy to spend a day with…and he catches fish. Lots of fish. He is everything I look for in a fishing guide, and while I could tell stories about non-stop fishing action and taking home limits from Chris’ boat, the experience that best sums up why I book with Chris each and every time is from a beautiful day fishing off the mouth of the Capilano river in mid-September. The weather was great, the tide was good, but the fishing was slow. Really slow. We saw 50 other boats that day, and during the prime fishing window, we saw a total of 3 fish get caught. But we caught 2 of them, and had one other bite that got away. We left happy when almost no one else did. That day set Chris apart in my view, and we have never looked back – Stephen.

Boated a few nice salmon and had on a bunch more.
Speed worked hard at trying different things that were going to work that day, he was very patient with my 13 year old girls on their first salmon charter and they both caught fish.
