The winds were blowing after first fish was caught but Rey was willing to go strong. He had contacts within windy conditions and was able to put us where we needed to be to catch fish and have an awesome time!
For me personally as a woman he made sure I was always prepared and good to go to catch the first and next fish 😊. “What a great second time here in Loreto with him and grateful to be able to assist him when needed!” I and my husband recommend Rubio Sport Fishing to anyone who wants to enjoy catching fish and the views 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊

My wife and I went out for a day with Rubio Sport Fishing.
We were guided by Alfredo’s uncle, Pascho. Pascho didn’t speak much english but he worked hard all day long to get us into the yellowtail.  He also was a very pleasant guy, letting us do as much of the fishing stuff as we wanted. For example, he showed me how to rig the live bait onto the hook, and then let me give it a try.  He laughed at my first attempt but gave me a “thumbs up” when I succeeded on the the second try.  He was also very quick to get to the rods if we had a hit but he also was good at coaching us how to be patient when letting the bait get eaten before setting the hook.
When our first location wasn’t producing Pacho, took us to another spot and we had great action there. By the end of the day, we had landed 5 yellowtail and an Amberjack.  We also lost a bunch more, so there was plenty of action throughout the day.
We also saw two huge schools of dolphins, which was incredible. There were also mulitple manta rays leaping out of the water to keep us entertained in between hookups.

This was my first solo outing with the Rubio’s and Alfredo was at the marina in the morning to ensure I found my panga and received my lunch. There was no live bait available that day. So, my captain, Antonio took us south of the marina where we joined a fleet of panga’s that were catching bait. Luckily, Antonio excelled at catching bait fish since I only caught 4. We then headed out past Coronado Island and trolled live bait. Fishing was slow that day. Yet, I caught 2 nice yellowtail and had a couple other fish on. It was a fine day on the ocean and we saw porpoises as well. Alfredo did a fine job of bringing my vacuum sealed frozen fish by my residence on the day I flew out making my departure from Loreto a breeze.

Rubio Sportfishing is a true family owned and operated small business. Alfredo Jr. took care of all the details to get us on the water. Alfredo Sr. Was our guide for 3 days of excellent yellowtail fishing. We even made a bottom fishing stop on the way back in on day 3. The boat was brand new and the equipment and knowledge of the fishery was 2nd to none. I highly recommend this guide service and can’t wait to come back for Mahi! Truly an exceptional experience!

Loved everything about this fishing trip! The friendly and organized pre planning by Alfredo was spot on and there was zero confusion about where to meet and what we needed to bring. Our captain Antonio was amazingly friendly, respectful, helpful, and professional! He brought us awesome homemade burritos with roasted beef and and peppers wrapped up in homemade tortillas. Also free beer and drinks!  Caught 3 good size mahi-mahi one of which was around 40 inches or so with tons of jumping and aerobatics on the way in. It was a blast!  A bunch of Bonita too but they’re not good to eat so we threw those back. My girlfriend wasn’t feeling good so we decided to stop a little early and went to one of the most beautiful beaches Ive ever seen! Pretty sure it was called the Isle de Coranado?? Then we headed back to the dock where Alfredo said he would filet, vacuum seal, and hand deliver all our fish to our Airbnb! Thanks again for everything guys! I will def be down to Baja to fish with you guys again!
