We had Kevin as our charter captain and he was amazing. Tried really hard to make sure we caught as many fish as possible and was very accommodating to what fish we were looking for. 10/10 recommend this chapter and if you do ask for Kevin.
Doubled up on Mahi in the first hour and caught a nice sailfish ! Great captain very knowledgeable and can find the fish. We will be back for sure.
Had a great time all around…Kevin kept switching up the plan until he got us on fish. Second time with him in the Mako. A blast both times. Professionals
Captain Kevin was great. Great guy and put us on the fish quick. Definitely would use them again next time we are here.
I’ll start by saying the communication with app and captain was amazing. I’m a first time booker so I did not know what to expect. The weather was less then . Desirable as our start time was delayed by weather, but no worries though. After we left we fueled up and headed out to go try to score some live bait, that probably shouldn’t be included in your booked charter time but im a native so live bait always makes sense. After unsuccessfully casting live bait, the planted traps are next with only one of the two having any pin fish, all the while our amazing captain/ first mate Kevin who by the way is probably the best human I’ve met in the keys guided us and also since he was solo on the boat gave us great knowledge everything chatter.
After we set off to actually do what we booked for, we headed out to a reef ti catch some grouper, mind you storms and choppy water we’re ahead. Captain Kevin baited us up and schooled us on how to let the lines catch the fish, great knowledge from him. I literally can’t say enough given the minimal amount of time we had with the unsettling current and waves we endured. We scored some grouper and moved on to a ship wreck with seas less than 5 foot within the hour. We eagerly learned snapper fishing from Kevin and the how to. Sadly quickly we were circled by storms to know one’s fault, our time fishing was cut short and we were off to dock, we tried to get back but had to stop because weather and minimal visibility we had to stop and wait for about 30 minutes as equipment failed and visibility was not an option. After lightning and pelting rain slowed we docked at fuel stop for another 30 minutes until we could dock. I will say without a doubt captain Kevin was a blessing, I don’t think we could have asked for a better 1st mate and captain ever, we only wished we could have fished our time.
