If you are new to fishing and just want to get out on the water this is for you. If you know how to fish you will be extremely disappointed. The rods and reels were very cheap and not maintained. The boat was nice. The live bait we were using were mud chubs. I spoke with a few people and everyone said shrimp and pins were catching fish best. For the cost of the trip you would think the captain would have made a small investment into the trip. But when you come from out of town and only charter on the weekends for tourists this is what you get.

I believe you caught about eight or nine fish you and your daughter? Penn makes some of the best rods and reels in the industry??? Shrimp is not available at all bait shops and cannot find them in creek , the bite has been great on minnows . All others caught them on minnows and you did too. Safe travels to Florida
Email I recieved said to meet at 7am , he showed up at 7:45. I also booked trip online and had receipt showing it was for 4 people. He argued with us about it and was annoyed that it was for 4 people and tried to charge us more for our 4th angler (a child btw) . The first 3.5 hr we fished at a very bad location lines kept getting hung up etc and then he drove down to the area he said we were guaranteed to catch fish. We thought, why weren’t we there from the beginning?!?! We did catch 2 sharks and another smaller fish almost as soon as we threw in our lines, but after maybe 20 minutes, he says times up and we had to leave. I had the feeling that he intentionally avoided the spots w fish so he didnt have to worry about packaging our catches as advertised and was still upset that we got 4 people for the price of 3 when it’s how I booked it online through the website!!! Not a very fun experience for our kids who had looked forward to this for weeks.

I go to the same spot every day and catch fish some days are better than others. I cannot control the bite I can only put you on the spot. Some people are good at fishing and some are not . I’ll try to make all my customers feel welcome on my boat, and have a good time catching fish. That’s my main goal in life. But there are situations out of my control. Zack was a nice enough fella. Had plenty of tall fish tales to tell and a million “great spots” to fish- but when the rubber hits the road this Charlotte transplant should really stick to his off shore fishing and not claim to be an in shore/ near shore guide until he works with some locals for at least another 5 years. His lack of tackle- varying bait options (yes he had some mud minnows- some frozen pre packaged mullet fillets and a few frozen shrimp) but no other tackle to switch out to or even the real knowledge or understanding of the area and feeding habits of the fish to try different options and at least make an attempt to put us on the fish. When I come to an area and pay damn good money for a charter captain I EXPECT they have fished the waters for more than 1 year and can do their best to make our day and money well spent. Heck Zack called my brother KEN “Kent” all day and by the end was calling my father FRED”Frank” - he waited for people who were in his “spots” to leave as they weren’t catching fish— to circle round behind them and see if he could make an empty hole produce.
I can go on- but I advise everyone out there- to due a better due diligence and ensure that you locate a LOCAL GUIDE to go out with. As we heard from a true local guide as our captain struggled for 10 minutes to get our boat to the dock telling his client”that’s one of the biggest trout I have ever seen come out of these waters - I will be sure to send you picks of all the fish you caught as soon as I get back and clean the boat” while we came off the water with NOTHING for the day it shows that local is always better when it comes to choosing a fishing guide.

During this time of season the fish are moving with the weather changes , I believe you did catch three fish, 2- small reds and a large sting ray. The guide that took his customer out said that he caught a large trout had a shallow bottom boat that could get back into creeks with a pole and sight fish . That could lead to a couple more bites this time of the year . I worked very hard for six hours trying to help you guys catch fish with different types of bait that has always produced fish. I cannot control the bite I can only put you on the locations where the fish are, and hope they are ready to eat at that time. I clearly showed you the fish under the boat with my monitor they were there 90% of the time if they were not we left. You all agreed to that, and thank you very much for your business and the tip that you gave me. I wish you would’ve told me all this how you really feel in front of me like now that you’re gone do you love to put somebody down. Congratulations you’re the second person that wrote a review on me in two years like this, and they caught fish that day too unreal. I will not cash your check you wrote me, for the three-quarter day trip which cost me gas, bait, labor and boat wear and tear. God Bless you And your family nobody had to pay today!
