What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Okaloosa Island, Florida for the first time?

Book the longer trip, don’t be afraid to dig in and get your hands dirty bait your hooks get your fish off, listen to Sam and he will get you some fish. Catch your dinner first then go after the big stuff. Mingos are tasty and when they are biting you’ll pull them in on every line drop,

Dress for the weather, it was a bit chilly and because of that we had to go farther to find the fish, saw a few dolphins along the way! We caught a few trigger fish, but they weren't big enough to keep!

Manage your expectations! If you’re looking for a boatload of fish and want to call your shots on what you bring in, come in the fall! Summer time is all about fun and experiences! The kids had more fun hammering bluefish and watching them destroy baits than they would have if we were working our tails off all day for a couple of reds!

Fishing here is usually always good . Plenty of fish for everyone. Doesnt take long to get from the dock to the first drop

conditions are not always great in April. Take rain jacket and change of clothes if conditions are rough.

Pay for the 6hr or 8hr. Too much fish pressure in the areas the 4hr trips go. use the time to get to the good fish!

the water cold and not a lot of fish hitting but red snapper was what we where cathing. it was still fun with the kids.

Yeah… it was a bit of a grind for us, but I think that’s probably an anomaly. Sometimes it’s fishing, not catching lol

Don’t do an inshore trip. We brought nothing back. I have never paid that much money to catch nothing.

We chose Captain George because he wasn’t a bay only or near shore only. We needed someone to trust to take us wherever the best fishing was at.

Particularly great if state allows you to keep the catch. They are very finicky with allowing dates and species, forcing small boat owners to purchase expensive licenses.
