The boat is GREAT with leather sofas in the cabin and ample space to fight fish including a comfortable fish fighting chair completes the deck.  Captain Roche did an expert job of keeping everyone safe while searching for fish and the best route through challenging ocean conditions. At times we were battling 10+ foot waves, but out captain was able to find the safest route through or around them.  Shaggy ( deckhand ) is the best deckhand I have ever fished with. He was funny, kind and exceptional at setting out, managing and retrieving 5+ poles without ever missing a beat nor tangling a line.  We started out by catching a (smaller) Barracuda and then the hunt began for the Wahoo (Acanthocybium solandri), which is one of the few ocean sport fish that I had yet to catch.  After several hours the crew’s hard work was rewarded and Shaggy made sure I was comfortably seated before handing me the unruly rod. After many runs ( some coming fast directly at the boat, where it is imperative that you keep the line tight) the Wahoo finally tired out and Shaggy demonstrated how to use two gaffs to safely bring the trophy directly into the fish box, so no sharp teeth would be flopping around on the deck. As the wonderful trip neared it’s end Capt. Roche most kindly agreed to drop us of on a different dock, which was right next to the RC where we were staying. Thank you Capt Roche and Shaggy for an unforgettable day on the beautiful waters surrounding the Aruba paradise.

If you are an experienced angler like me, and know what you want out of a fishing charter then this is the boat and crew for you. I explained to the captain what I wanted to fish for, and the team bent over backwards to put me on what I wanted. We even left and went night fishing rather than the normal morning trip.

We only caught one fish but that one was an 8 foot Tiger Shark. Memorable to be sure.

Captain and mate of the Ke Pasa were very friendly and knowledgeable. They worked non-stop to get us on the fish. The bait was fresh and the rods and rigs were in good condition!  We had multiple lines out. We had some nice strikes and were able to bring in a nice size Wahoo for supper.

Our trip ended with a great Yellowfin tuna.  It was a bit of a slow day on the water, but all’s well that ends well.

The seas were rough but the catch made it all worth it.  The crew worked hard to give us the best chance at catching fish and it paid off.  8 Bonita and 1 Wahoo later we had plenty of fish to eat!  The crew was very professional and a lot of fun to fish with!
