Jared made the trip amazing. He gave us the best advice for what to catch, had the tackle for that catch made up and even worked with us on time for our trip so we could optimize getting the best location at the time with the most fish. He was attentive to us (new beginners) and teaching us propper form and encouraged us the whole way. This trip was so enjoyable we asked for business cards to give to some of the people we work with. The day was cold, windy, wet and miserable and we had a fantastic time. Very early season (mid May). Captain Jared saved the day by bringing waders and boots for us. We loaded up in the boat, had a safety briefing, and started our drift. First day of bait use on the Kasilof. After explaining we should not drop the poles in the river, Captain Jared rigged Laura’s pole first and got her fishing. While rigging my pole Laura was already bringing in her first of 3 Dolly Varden on the day. The count was 3 zip till I got the Steelhead. I’ve fished many places ( most warn and sunny) with many Captains, never had a better time. The Captain matters people. From Laura and I, Thanks for everything Captain Jared.

We went out with Jared on an early-morning boat ride to catch salmon in the Kenai River. Jared took us on a smooth ride to a nice sunny rock beach where there were tons of salmon swimming by and a comfortable beach to stand on. He positioned us in spots where he knew we would catch lots of fish, and kept his eye on us so that he was quickly able to spot when we had hooked a salmon and would run over with a net to help us scoop it in. At the end of the day, he cleanly filleted each piece leaving us with a season’s worth of fresh salmon to eat. Perfect trip!!

My husband, son and I went salmon fishing in the river with Jared.  It was slow at first, but Jared kept assuring us that he had talked to some other fishermen down the river, and salmon were headed our way.  When they arrived, it only took us about 2 hours to catch our limit! Jared was so friendly and encouraging!  He took the time to continuously show us good techniques!  It was such an amazing trip.  It rained almost the entire time we were there, but because we had waders and good rain jackets, we barely knew it was raining.  I highly recommend this trip!
