Had Leo & his crew out on a morning half-day. They caught kingfish to 20lbs, a blackfin tuna and several big bonito.

Had the one and only Capt. Jeff Maggio aka the Lunkerdog out today. About a year ago Jeff and I were talking about how nobody ever targets blue marlin anymore around here. And the both of us decided that we would go do it. Well the only problem is we’re both very busy captains and the time to do it never presented itself last spring (which is the best time to do it). So this year, with us both being shut down we decided to go do it. Left the dock about 7:45 and put out a spread of two teasers and 3 baits at 8:15. The 3rd bait wasn’t in the pin for 30 seconds and we were on to a nice cow dolphin of about 20lbs. Jeff made pretty quick work of that fish and we re-set the spread. Had nice scattered weed that was trying to set up East to west. Re-deployed and had a double of small mahi pile on the rigger baits. Caught 1 of those two & turned it loose. Shortly thereafter Jeff spots a blue marlin tearing up the surface up ahead of us! Left a giant swath of foaming white water! Just as we saw that one another blue marlin of about **hidden content**lbs free jumps 3 times behind the boat! Definitely a different fish than the first! And who knows how many more were down there. What you guys gotta remember is that just seeing one here, in Ft. Lauderdale (let alone 2) is something! Unfortunately neither fish wanted anything to do with us. But it was a tremendous satisfaction just knowing that they’re there! We added another really nice mahi to the box, dragged around for another couple of hours and were back to the dock by 2:30. We’re gonna keep trying as long as we have windows of opportunity and time. I want to give a shout out to Baitmasters of South Florida for a really great product too.

Got after it Saturay, April 4. Left the dock at 3:30 and was hooked up to our 1st tuna 15 minutes later! Had our limit by 5:15! Also caught 7 big hard-fighting bonito.
