We recorded 60 releases on live and artificial baits. The majority were medium sized up to 6 pounds or so.

This guide is tough, hard working, meticulous, passionate about fishing and maintains a very calm demeanor.  Perfect for someone that doesn’t get to fish often, like me.  Probably more so for someone that does.  Val gladly answered every question I asked, gave my a quick class on reading the electronics and showed me how to rig the baits we used, and a lot more.  Most importantly, she can put you on fish, LOTS of them.

On the phone, while setting up the trip, Val praised Headwaters Lake and said the conditions might be right for a fun, 40 fish day. She was right, and then some.

When I arrived at the ramp I asked what I could do to help and was told “just prepare to have fun”.  Val did everything that could be expected, she didn’t stop working until the boat was back on the trailer.  Most importantly, Val gratiously explained what to expect and what to do before we started.  I felt right at home on her boat.

Can’t wait to do it again.

Spent the day with Val on Headwater today with my 11 yo son.  She kept us on huge bass all day.  We caught around 40 in our 6 hour trip, mostly between 5-8 lbs.  Her gear and boat was top notch and she was super knowledgeable of the lake.  She was fantastic with my son as well, kept him set up on fish all day and on his toes.  Looking forward to booking an Okechobee trip with her in the future.

This was a fantastic trip. A cold front had come through, and I wasn’t expecting to catch many fish. The surface water temperature was in the low 60s, but the sun had come out. VALERIE suggested we use shiners which we did. She put us on fish immediately. I have bass finished in Missouri all my life. I’ve never had a day like this. We caught a total of 26 fish. My wife had one close to seven and I had one over 12. Many were in the three and four pound range. Again an absolutely amazing day. Thank you VALERIE.

First and foremost, I’m not a professional fisherman. I’m about as amateur as you can get. Despite that, Val took her time to learn what I was looking for out of the trip and did everything she could do to exceed those expectations. She was attentive, friendly and gave me plenty of pointers to help me with my fishing game. Her knowledge of where we fished and what we caught was impressive, to say the least. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a great trip out on the water.

Clearly has a high level of fishing expertise.  Fish were being uncooperative but her impressive use of electronics and applying them along with all of the other factors helped us find fish.  Really patient and persistent.  A comfortable blend of educational and fun for my 14 y/o daughter who is already looking forward to another trip (that alone is impressive!). 
Comfortable and well equipped boat and quality tackle that was enjoyable to use. 
Looking forward to another trip.
