Had a great trip Capt Doug was very responsive to our communication back and forth in preperation prior to Hurricane Elsa in tge Gulf. He, his mate and boat were ready to go when we arrived at the dock. The fishing was amazing, he really new his spots. When they appeared to small he moved on rather than burning time and saving bait and fuel. Top notch guide and Capt from start to finish. Cant say enough about John John his first mate. Excellent work ethic and very servant minded. We had an 8 yr old along and John paid him the special attention needed to make this the trip of a lifetime for the little guy. All without leaving the 4 adult men in need for anything. Thanks Captain Doug for a great and memborable day.
PS. Yes we caught our limit of really nice snapper early and enjoyed some trolling on the way in.

I cannot say enough good things about this trip.  Our priority was making memories with our children (7 & 9) who had never even been on a boat until today.  We booked a 4 hour in shore trip.  Again, not knowing how our children would react to this new experience we went with the shorter trip.

This was the perfect trip.  We left early in the morning at the end of April.  It was a little cool, but within an hour we were completely comfortable without wearing our light jackets. 

Captain Doug and his son Jonathan were amazing.  They were so patient with our novice, excited little fishermen.

It was a lot of fun! The water was a little rough that day but we still ventured out. Our group consisted of my grandson, sister, brother-in-law their grandson and myself. This was our first time on a private charter. My grandson caught the first fish a red snapper. King Mackerels were caught and filleted. Captain Doug was great and Josh was excellent. We definitely recommend Six Shooter Charters.

Captain Doug and Jon know their stuff! They got us out and put us on the fish quickly and made great use of our time out on the water. My kids had the best time of their lives with a new experience. It was their first time out on a charter and Doug and Jon were patient and made sure that we had a good time. Will definitely be fishing with them again!

Rave Review. I’m sure the charter business is competitive and most of these captains are good guys to go with, but this right here is the real deal. Doug is a 4th generation Pensacola native Captain, with over a dozen charter boats under his belt, and the know how to go with it. With Son John crewing, there was really nothing to do but enjoy the ride, and we were having a great ride before the fish started hitting. However, pulling in a cooler full of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish, with a good sized Red Drum for a cameo photo op, obviously made it that much better. We were looking at going offshore to look for deep water species but with wind advisories and Doug’s experience, we stayed closer to shore and did just fine without getting thrown around as much. The Marina Mascot, a Great Blue Heron named Bob, met us on return and paid close attention during Doug’s rapid fillet session. We’d do it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!!
