It requires a lot of patience to attract the bite of a Sturgeon. These monsters are still few and far between in some of the open waters of Michigan. In order to help conserve these famous fish, the fishing season is heavily regulated. Each angler is only allowed to keep one Sturgeon per year, so you’ll most likely be practicing catch and release to help keep up their numbers. 

 

These beauties usually surface around the end of summer, reaching their peak in fall, before proving more difficult to catch in winter. Come from August through November for your best chance of landing that prized catch.
