Looking to catch some fish in Mallorca? Average Fishing Company is your ticket!

Species like Amberjack, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, John Dory, Little Tunny (False Albacore), Swordfish, Bluefin Tuna, Albacore Tuna, Mediterranean Spearfish, Dogtooth Grouper and more inhabit these waters if you cast your line at the right time of year.

During the trip, you might be spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. The methods used vary from season to season. Capt. Marek also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.

Children are welcome, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!

You’ll be dropping lines from a 33’ Bertram 33 Sport Fisherman that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet and shower on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is caught during the trip if needed.

The First Mate, Jonas, will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a little token of appreciation is always welcomed at the end.

There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.

Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food, Dinner, and Lunch only on a 12-hour tour or longer, and some light snacks provided on board.

    Even in six hours, we can reach depths of up to 1500 meters where a lot of the big pelagic predators hunt. Depending on the season we will go out between 4 and 15 miles and hunt for Spearfish, Bonito, and Little Tunny. Bluefin Tuna is also possible but mostly an extra because they are not always around. A great opportunity if you want to test out the fishing in front of Mallorca and still have half the day for other activities.

    Every year in May the Albacore Tuna are coming into the Mediterranean Sea to spawn. Luckily we have the deepest water on the Island just in front of our port and that's exactly where the Albacore cumulate in big numbers. We go out from the Port and on the way we troll for Spearfish, Bonito, and little Tunny. When we arrive at the bid drop off we switch the trolling spread around and hunt for Albacore. Of course, all the other mentioned species are possible there as well.

    In 8 hours we will be going out up to 20 miles offshore and hunting for the elusive Spearfish, the fast Bonito, and the strong Little Tunny. Of course, there are also Mahis and sometimes a Bluefin Tuna which takes our bait. On this trip we often see dolphins. While enjoying the weather we wait for the reels to scream which is always a spike in adrenaline for everybody onboard. We fish with a trolling spread with accurate reels and MX-Fishing rods so we are prepared even if the big ones come along!

    We depart with the setting sun and drive to a drop-off where it goes from 100 meters to 2000 meters of depth. In the night the squids are coming up from the deep and if the moon has enough light, the Swordfish will follow the squids in a range where we fishermen can catch them shallower than the normal deepdropping by day. First, we catch squids which we use for live bait and when the Swordfish rods are deployed, we prepare the bottom fishing rods and see what's up under the boat.
