Rockwood Fly Fishing is here to give you a personal experience of the wild waters of Calgary.

Here you won’t be far from local waters, including some spots that only the locals know about. The name of the game around here is fly fishing, and that’s exactly what you’ll do. You may need to bring your own gear for this trip or rent some for an extra fee. Contact Mike ahead of time so you know what to expect and come prepared.

Species like Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), and more inhabit these waters if conditions are right.

Note that your guide practices catch-and-release fishing, so won’t be taking any fish home with you after the trip. Trips take place aboard a 16’ Hyde drift boat that can carry up to 2 passengers.

Be sure to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group ahead of time. You can find out more online, including exceptions that may apply. Plan to dress in layers and appropriate footwear (if you aren’t sure what that means, just ask). It’s never a bad idea to bring sunblock, bottled water, and sunglasses in any weather conditions.

Mike will have some snacks and drinks for you. Mike welcomes anglers of all ages on these trips, including kids. They should always wear life vests, so find out if Mike has the right size available or bring your own.
