First, my charter request for this trip was not the typical request.  I am not staying somewhere that I could cook my fish and won’t be home quick enough to have it shipped. So, I asked for a catch and release trip and Jesus was happy to give me such a trip. I read a decent amount of reviews in here about Jesus and his lack of speaking english.  This is simply not true, Jesus english was perfectly fine and I had no issues communicating with him.

Jesus knew I wanted roosterfish and other shore fish and took me to the goods. We also picked up live bait outside of the marina, so have $30USD or $500 pesos ready to go.  Unlike some charters, Jesus handed me the rod and let me feel the bites and set the hooks - it felt like real fishing and not someone just handing me a rod with a fish on it.  We were quickly on the fish and landing roosterfish and spanish mackerels pretty consistently all morning.  We only paused because a few Humpback Whales and dolphin showed up and he was nice enough to get us some amazing views of such an enormous creature.

I know I wasn’t going after the sportfish, but Jesus still provided me with a fantastic day of fishing.  His boat was clean and comfortable and everything was in working order.  I truly have nothing but positive things to say about my day with Jesus.

We had an awesome time and I would HIGHLY recommend Jesus (Captain Pollo).  He was great at communication and went the extra mile to make sure we were all set to go and ready for a good day.  Our Captain, Alejandro, took us exactly where the fish were.  It was a very engaging day..not just endless hours of trolling.  We got 4 mackerel, a wahoo, 4 sea bass and a snapper.  So amazing.  We spotted dolphins, rays and turtles too.  I highly recommend these guys.

Today we did the 5 hour fishing trip leaving at 6:30am. We arrived around 6am to make sure we could get the licenses and payment processed with no wasted time. We cruised back in around 1:45pm. It was excellent! We caught two ginormous yellow fin tuna, 3 gorgeous mahi mahi, as well as a grouper. Our captain was great and we even got to see some whales. Please be advised that this does not come with food or drinks. We KNEW this and brought water and snacks! Some other reviews complained about this but it’s clear in the listing. When we got back to the dock we tipped some guys at the marina to cut and clean the fish. We are extremely happy.

This is our second trip with Captain Pollo and it just gets better! We had the amazing first mate Coco Alejandro with us so this time we new we were up for an adventure. First I lost my glasses in the water. No problem! Capt Pollo called a diver and saved me from being blind for the rest of the trip. Onward to our adventure. These two are a great team! Kind, knowledgeable, patient all the ingredients needed for great fishing! We’ve been here 3 times and never caught a fish. This time we caught 5 two dorados, two triggerfish, and a delish snapper..the trip is worth every penny! We have a marina right by our resort and will drive the hour to meet with our Pollo! Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed

Captain Pollo was incredible! It was our first time fishing and he was patient and kind as we learned. Caught around 10 fish total, including 2 beautiful large Mahi. Amazing first experience and can’t wait to go again. Highly recommend using captain Pollo!
