Carolina Sunrise – CobiaKiller is a charter dedicated to inshore and nearshore fishing on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina. You will have a professionally guided trip by Captain Aaron Beatson, so bring the kids to learn or bring the pros - everyone is welcome! This charter is always ready to go in search of Jacks, Redfish, Kingfish and of course - Cobia!

You will go out aboard a 20 foot 1950 custom Carolina performance fishing boat, originally built in 1958, and restored in 2006. This vintage beauty is now powered by a 140 HP Suzuki engine, with a maximum cruising speed of 40 knots. That makes it very fast on the shallow and inshore waters of the Outer Banks. The boat is equipped with life jackets for safety and all the electronics needed to get you to the best fishing spots.

You will find the flybridge particularly handy for sight fishing or just taking in the breathtaking scenery of this area. The onboard icebox will be used to store your catch until you return to the shore, so please make sure you bring a cooler of your own to transport the fish home safely.

Carolina Sunrise - CobiaKiller will put you on a wide variety of fish - from the inshore species like Trout, Redfish, Jack Crevalle, and Cobia, to the nearshore species that include King Mackerel, Mahi Mahi, and Bluefish.

The fishing gear is provided in the form of rods, reels, tackle, lures and live bait. You will have a fishing license as well as a cleaning and filleting service once the trip is over. Captain Aaron will also provide you with drinks so all you have to bring is positive energy. And sunglasses.

    Clamming trips are great family experiences that everyone can get involved with. You'll visit the rich backwater sand bars of Oregon inlet where the water ranges from ankle-deep to chin-deep, making it suitable for kids to safely enjoy. After your trip has ended, you can take your catch to the beach house, and steam it for everyone to enjoy!

    Captain Aaron loves taking the whole family clamming in the backwater sand bars of Oregon Inlet! You'll be clamming in ankle to chin-deep water, making the experience great for the little ones while mom and dad can relax! Captain has two daughters himself, and lots of practice keeping the group happy. At the end of your trip, you can bring the clams back to the beach house, steam them up with butter and share!

    On the half day trip, you will stay in the flats or the inshore waters targeting tasty Spotted Seatrout, Flounder and Redfish (Drum). If you go outside the bridge, you'll be targeting Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. After searching the whole world over for Cobia during the last ten years, the largest captain ever came across was 300 yards off the beach while trolling for Bluefish on a half day trip. What a happy surprise that lucky family had when they managed to land the 93lb beast.

    The afternoon option is perfect for anglers looking to take a more relaxed approach to their trip. You'll mostly stay inshore, on the flats, targeting Flounder, Spotted Seatrout, and Redfish (Drum). In case you venture past the bridge Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish will also be available. If you get really lucky you may even see a Cobia. The largest one the captain's ever seen was a 93 lb monster, no more than 300 yards off the beach.

    This trip is an all-day sight casting adventure for Redfish and Cobia. Getting the kids in the tower, spotting fish, and getting after it is what it's all about! Trolling spoons while looking for groups of fish may also offer Spanish Mackerel, small Mahi Mahi and maybe a King Mackerel or three. You can also go fish the flats for small Redfish and Trout if you limit out on Cobia early. Captain Aaron tries to mix it up on full days but if its Cobia you're after, this is your trip!

I was raised in VA Beach, VA. As a youngster, I fished around lakes and the ocean. This area would be the location where my love for water took place. Maybe not the time when I was 5 and my dad threw me in the ocean, by my ankles, to teach me to swim. It didn't take long to get a bodyboard and a surfboard under my arm. Having 2 older brothers really helped when going on fishing adventures early in life. We came up with all kinds of reasons to leave the house and go surfing or fishing. It wasn't long till we started heading south, to the uncrowded beaches of the Outer Banks of NC. This is where I live now, with my 2 daughters Lily and Maddy, along with my wonderful wife Erin. My two older brothers live nearby and we have 7 children between the three of us to enjoy raising here on the beach. After learning the local ways of fishing techniques, I became passionate about taking friends fishing at different times of the year. I received my Captain's license soon after and never looked back!
