Since the beginning, the original guide service has operated fishing trips on Headwaters Lake, also known as Fellsmere Reservoir. Don’t take the chance; we offer the best trips because of our experience and knowledge of the fishery.

There’s enough room on the boats for up to 4 anglers to go fishing. The boats you’ll be fishing from are 20’. It has everything you’ll need for catching fish at the lake or shallow waters.

We specialize in bass fishing with artificial lures but are happy to use live bait if you prefer. The headwaters of Fellsmere are in the 4 to 8-foot range and are one of the best places with 10 to 20 feet of water. Let the captain know which techniques you’d like to master, and he’ll adjust everything.

It’s one of the top 5 trophy Bass locations worldwide, making it worth a trip. Since you are the focus for the day, all trips are private. There’s no one else on the boat, and you can choose between a morning or an afternoon adventure.

This is a premier guide service, and the captain provides quality equipment and bottled water. We welcome vets, handicapped anglers, ladies, couples, and especially kids.

Hello, I am Captain Bill and a licensed master captain. Originally born in Iowa and raised on the Mississippi River. I've been fishing ever since I was a little kid. I caught the Bass fishing bug early in life. When I was younger, I found an old Johnson spoon in my father’s tackle box, tied it on, and caught a Bass. Instantly hooked on fishing, my pursuit of a career in it was inevitable. Living on the river where his family owned a campground and bait shop, he has been putting people on fish for years. He has been married for 21 years and is a father of 4 and grandfather of 1. He heard about Headwaters Lake being open, so he moved to Florida to pursue his dream of being the first full-time fishing guide on Headwaters and now has a team of guides that work with him.  Captain Bill and the team will help get you experience Headwaters and Stick Marsh like no other, producing beautiful trophy Largemouth Bass all day long. Set against the backdrop of the stunning Headwaters Lake, two avid anglers embarked on a thrilling 6-hour adventure with Captain Bill at the helm. They began their journey exploring the pristine waters near the cypress trees lining the eastern shore. Armed with topwater frogs and spinnerbaits, they cast their lines into the shallow waters, enticing explosive strikes from aggressive bass hiding in the shadows. Captain Bill guided them to the submerged brush piles scattered across the lake. Here, they switched to Texas-rigged plastic worms and swimbaits, carefully working the structure to coax out the lunker bass lurking below. Their persistence paid off when one angler hooked into a monstrous bass weighing an astonishing 10.2 pounds! The adrenaline-fueled battle had them on the edge of their seats as they fought to land the trophy fish. Not content to rest on their laurels, they continued their journey, exploring the open water near the dam. Here, they found schools of hungry bass feeding on baitfish. Using crankbaits and jerkbaits, they added several more quality fish to their tally, including several in the 5-8 pound range. As the morning drew to a close, the anglers reluctantly bid farewell to Headwaters Lake, their hearts still racing from the adrenaline-pumping battles and their minds filled with memories of trophy bass. With plans already in place for their next adventure, they knew that Headwaters Lake would forever hold a special place in their angling journey.
