January is peak tourist season in Jamaica. You’ll need to book ahead of time to enjoy the great White Marlin bite. Otherwise, visit the Accompong Maroon Festival to learn about the island’s rich cultural history.

Jamaica celebrates Bob Marley’s birthday in style, with week-long celebrations in Kingston and one serious party in Montego Bay. Check out the music then hit the water for awesome White Marlin and Mahi Mahi fishing.

Get a workout battling Mahi Mahi, White Marlin, Wahoo, and Yellowfin Tuna, then enjoy a whole other kind of watersport at the Jamaica Kiteboard World Cup in Port Antonio.

April means Carnival in Jamaica, and Kingston, Ocho Rios, and Montego Bay all come alive with color and music! It’s also a great time to go fishing, with all the island’s many fish species biting hard.

The toughest part of fishing in Jamaica in May is deciding what to go after. Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Snapper, Grouper, and various Sharks are all biting hard this time of year.

Blue Marlin season is really getting good as the Mahi Mahi bite drops off. Head offshore for a day of screaming reels, then switch to a more mellow sound at the Montego Bay Reggae Sumfest.

Locals celebrate Jamaica’s independence island-wide, with parades, floats, galas, and street parties. If you want to escape the crowds, you can always enjoy peak Blue Marlin season offshore.

Competitive anglers head to Montego Bay in September to take part in the Jamaica International Blue Marlin Team Tournament. We can see why: Blue Marlin are on fire this time of year.

Big game season winds down in December, and the tournament crowds all move on. There are still plenty of Marlin around, though, so this can be a great time of year to target them.
