Cancún has a fish with your name on it, so let Fishing Charters in Cancun help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Arturo can tell you all about the local fishery.
These waters are known for Grunt, Great Barracuda, Amberjack, Jack Crevalle, White Marlin, Sailfish, Black Grouper, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Bonito, Horse-eye Jack, Almaco Jack, Blue Marlin, and more – with any luck, you’ll have tight lines in no time. On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Children are welcome, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Your vessel for the day is the Billfish, a 30’ Phoenix Sportfishing vessel with space for 5 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Eduardo will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
Before coming aboard, you’ll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip with Fishing Charters in Cancun and their 30’ Billfish!
