Captain Seth welcomes you to his boat and invites you to join him for a Flounder gigging session. He’s been fishing the inshore waters of Port O’Connor and specializes in these night adventures. Everything starts at the marina, where you’ll meet the captain and come aboard his 20’ All weld boat. This aluminum vessel is powered by a 115 HP Yamaha engine and swiftly glides through the backcountry. With a special lighting system, you’ll easily find your way through the night, right to your catch.

Flounder are bottom feeders and you won’t find them on the surface. Look for their silhouette at the bottom and spear them with your gig. It’s easy to spot them, as they are usually in very shallow water. It’s a game of patience and precision that never gets boring.

Your captain will prepare all equipment you’ll need for this trip. You also get to keep the catch and he’ll clean it for you before you leave the boat. Don’t forget to purchase your fishing license and pack some food and drinks.
