Nautical Mile Charters is run by lifelong angling enthusiast and self-confessed family man, Captain Dave Wood. He’s fished all over the world, but decided to settle in Wilmington, NC, and turn his passion for angling into a career.

These rich waters hold a whole host of prized species, from Redfish to Barracuda to Cobia, so hop aboard Nautical Mile Charters and become a part of Capt. Dave’s fishing family!

Capt. Dave specializes in running inshore and offshore adventures around Wilmington’s islands, which are home to some seriously fruitful angling opportunities. Your captain will tailor your adventure to suit your group’s skill levels, as well as taking into consideration any species you’d really like to hook!

Inshore, you’ll cast your line for the tasty trio of Speckled Trout, Flounder, and Redfish, and will be fishing within minutes. Want to head further out? Your captain will take you up to 25 miles from shore, which takes under an hour to get to, where you’ll discover Barracuda, Cobia, and King Mackerel.

You’ll be embarking on your trip aboard your captain’s 23’ Parker center console, which is perfectly built to explore a variety of waters. She can accommodate up to 4 guests. Capt. Dave warmly welcomes children age 5 and above, and will provide life jackets for all guests, so why not make this a family vacation to remember?

As well as plenty of deck space for 4 guests, this vessel is also decked out with top-quality navigational and safety gear, room for your cooler packed with refreshments, and a porta-potty toilet. You’ll be in for a comfortable and safe journey to the hotspots!

Your adventure includes top-quality rods and reels, as well as your captain’s expert knowledge and advice – he’ll be with you every step of the way. You’ll also have the chance to catch your own live bait as you head to your fishing grounds.
