It’s tough to find a charter that can cater to both the serious angler looking for a trophy Sailfish, as well as a safe and family-friendly option to take the kids on their first fishing trip. Luckily, Southern Charm Fishing Charters offers both– now you’ve found them, it’s all smooth sailing from now on!

Join them aboard their 26’ World Cat catamaran, a splendid and stable boat perfectly suitable for these waters. She’s quite spacious, able to hold you and 5 other anglers without bumping elbows. Outriggers and downriggers are on board to extend your reach while trolling. A portable toilet is also present, though it’s in a private cupboard of its own.

You’ll target a wide range of exciting species with Southern Charm Fishing Charters. You’ll go trolling for Sailfish, Kingfish, Mahi Mahi, and others, plus bottom fishing for Groupers and Snappers too. Spinning, jigging, and popping are also options, as well as drifting – don’t worry if you haven’t tried any of these techniques before, the crew will happily instruct you. If you’re a fan of the toothy Sharks, this charter will thrill you – their Shark fishing trips are known far and wide. The crew often compete in Shark fishing tournaments, and do extremely well!

The captain is licensed to operate in federal waters, so get ready for some pelagic monster action. If you’re a left-handed angler, don’t worry! The captain provides left-handed rods and reels.

If you book during the month of October, you’ll automatically be entered into the famous Destin Fishing Rodeo for a chance to win gifts, prizes, and certificates if you manage to catch a big one. There’s no additional charge to participate and it’s completely up to you if you want to weigh your fish.

    With the days getting longer and hotter the best trolling bite is morning and late afternoon so this trip will start at 3pm.so you can avoid the worst part of the heat and take advantage of the afternoon bite.     This is a good trip if you want to catch a Shark as it gives us more time to get the fish subdued as big ones can take up to 2 hours to bring to the boat.     If you're up for a battle with these predators, this trip is right up your alley. Catch and release is greatly encouraged, unless you have the know-how to preserve Shark meat for eating. You can get out to some areas that don't have as much fishing pressure. Starting time is flexible to better suit your schedule.     Go for daytime Swordfish and troll artificial and ballyhoo from 20-80 miles off the Destin Pass. You might target deep water ledges and wrecks for Wahoo or troll grass lines or temperature breaks and fad (fish attracting devices in this case specially designed buoys) in the Desoto Canyon area for Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, and Tuna. The sea and weather have to be right to pull these trips off more so than the shorter trips, and safety is always the top priority. The trip is perfect for 4 anglers.

Both my grandmothers loved to fish and took me fishing as soon as I could walk not to mention all the fishing with my dad and uncles. I was hooked on fishing right from the start and have pursued many hobbies over the years but fishing is the one that's stuck with me to this day and probably always will. I'm always open to learning new fishing techniques and believe the day you think you know it all its the day you are gonna miss out and get stuck in a rut. I really enjoy taking people out on the water and showing folks new to the area what these beautiful emerald green waters have to offer.
