You can also go after Chinook Salmon that enter the river in September and stick around until December. These bad boys can weigh anywhere from 20–50 pounds, and fly fishing for them is an adrenaline rush. If you’re looking for something more exotic, come in the fall to target sea-run Cutthroat Trout.
 
The river could be difficult to navigate on your own, so having a professional to take you out is always a good idea. Expeditions are usually organized for smaller groups of people so that the guide can be at your disposal at all times. You can bring your own fly gear or they can provide it for you. Bring your valid fishing license with the necessary report cards.
