Глубоководная рыбалка Рыбалка – Техас

The deep sea fishing Texas has on its doorstep has a great reputation among hardcore anglers and newbie sea cowboys alike. The Lone Star spans dozens of climate regions, boasts a quick economy and a booming tech scene. The countryside is spacious and rich with waterways, both freshwater and saltwater. Here you’ll find massive Redfish and Speckled Trout, and scores of seasoned captains. But, the crown jewel of this collection is the 367-mile coastline wrapped around the Gulf of Mexico.

There are numerous launchpads for fishing charters heading after deep sea game. From Galveston in the north, over to Freeport, Matagorda, and Port O’Connor, and then further south towards the praised fisheries off Rockport, Fulton, Aransas Pass, Port Aransas, Corpus Christi, and South Padre Island, this stretch of land is a boat ride away from some of the finest fish that swim in the Gulf.

The farther south you go, the closer the blue sea is. It’s just a matter of how experienced you are, really. Texas captains run trips that last anywhere from eight to 88 hours. If you think it’s a joke, better check again - the offshore banks, reefs, and ledges are home to a range of fish, from Mahi, Wahoo, Marlin, Tuna, and Amberjacks to Snapper and more. So, let’s have a quick look at what lies beneath with each passing mile and explore some of the top places to be fishing around.

Continental shelf off Port Aransas

If you’re bent on bending the rod against Wahoo, Blue and White Marlin, Mahi, and Yellowfin Tuna, then head out past the 40 mile mark where the continental shelf starts to plummet. The seafloor will drop to about 600 ft and then more, to as much as 1000 ft in a matter of miles. Here you will also find Sailfish and Blackfin Tuna.

Given that a full day trip will be enough to get you to these honey spots, it’s easy to see why these waters have some of the best deep sea fishing in Texas. And if you want to get to Billfish that live further out, you can also explore the fisheries such as Bakers Rock, the Dumps, the East Breaks, or Colt, which all lie between 60 and 80 miles from the mainland.

Continental shelf off Corpus Christi

If you want to take on Texas’ south, then the 200 ft deep waters where the continental shelf starts dropping are the place to come and conquer. Lying 60 miles from the coast, these fisheries produce real magic, with Amberjacks, Snapper, Tuna, and Billfish lurking around. Just a couple of miles out, and near the Ranzels Rock, you will find some more massive AJs, followed by the members of the Billfish family, and some hard hitting Yellowfin Tuna.

NW Gulf banks and reefs

Scattered around the northwest part of the Gulf, near the continental shelf, the banks and reefs that lie some 100 miles from the coast, offer remarkable fishing. This is the home of some intimidating Wahoo, trophy Mahis, but also Tuna and Billfish. The best-known of these reefs and banks include Stenton Banks and Flower Gardens. A lot has been done here to help preserve the fisheries and marine life, including establishing the marine sanctuary center.

Offshore oil rigs of Texas

If you want a tournament-size catch, you’ve got to have tournament-level waters and Fish Aggregating Devices that attract the fish. Enter oil rigs. So, why do anglers love oil rigs? Because they attract bait fish. And, when there’s bait fish, there’s some big fish too. And the fishing gets outstanding. Luckily, these towering constructions are scattered around the Gulf. They sit in deep waters. By deep we mean anything from 5000 ft and more.

‘Perdido’, the Eiffel Tower among oil rigs, lies 155 miles from Port Aransas, right in the heart of the Gulf of Mexico. It’s the deepest oil rig in the world, producing incredible Billfish and Tuna. Record Marlin have been snatched here, some weighing around 450 lbs.

Now, you don’t have to go all the way to ‘Perdido’ to get impressive fish. Book a charter and head to the Hoover, Boomvang, or Tequila and Cerveza. You will need to break the 100-mile point to get there, so don’t settle with anything shorter than an overnight trip. All these are Billfish meeting points and you’re going to love it!

Deep Sea Fishing Texas Prices

An entry-level trip on a decent center console costs around $1,400. These are normally 10-hour trips, which will head out 50-60 miles in search of Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, and more. If you want to head farther, or set your sights on monster Marlin, you should consider speccing up to a sportfishing boat. These vessels can head to even greater depths. They also have the obvious advantage of somewhere to sleep on the way. You may end up paying close to $2,000, but arriving well-rested makes it more than worth it.

If you really want to go all-out, the largest boats often offer multi-day trips, taking you to the very heart of the Gulf. These can cost upward of $2,000 per day, but they include the full five-star package: world-class crews, tournament-grade gear, great food, and VIP service. This is not your average fishing charter.

When to go deep sea fishing in Texas?

Generally speaking, Texas deep sea fishing is available year-round. However, as these trips last long and take you far from the land, it’s best to head out from early spring until fall. April is already a good month to start exploring the deep waters off the Coastal Bend and you can expect lucrative fishing until October.
