2/20/18…. three stripe marlin one day
I was extremely happy with this outing. Luis and crew were top notch. Not only were they friendly, they know what they are doing, and were honest with how the bite was going the day we went. Said Marlins were a bit tough, but that we could still go for them, with a 60/40 expectation of catching. Or, we could go for some smaller fish in another area. While we didn’t land a Marlin, we did see 4-5 while we were out, so they knew the area well. I did end up catching a total of 7 tuna, all weighting between 15-25 lbs each. A ton of fun. My wife went, and while not a fisherman, she had a blast sitting up top with the captain “scouting” for Marlin. The Budster Pride is a great boat, and was the perfect size for the two of us. Restroom on board was a plus too. Next time I’m in Cabo, I’ll go back out these guys. Overall very satisfied!

We had a great day with Captain Louis and first mate Ishmael, very knowledgeable and they put us on fish almost immediately and continued to catch them roughly every twenty minutes. Big bonus was the sea lion who jumped on the back of boat on the way back, our boys got to pet and feed him. Couple of things to know though, it’s the Pacific Ocean so even a calm day can be a bit rough, the boats down here mostly run diesel so they are noisy and it’s sport fishing so you are constantly moving. If you’re good with all that then get ready for a great day with these guys.

From the beginning to the end the captain and crew were amazing. They spotted Marlin on the surface and the crew went into action, casting a live bait. About 10 seconds after the cast, the captain gunned the boat and it was FISH ON! I grabbed the pole and I was in the action. About 15 minutes and two spaghetti arms later, I helped the crewman haul this 160+lb, 9 ft Marlin into the boat while my amazing Fiancé caught it all on camera!
Thanks for a memory for a lifetime!

Great trip. The boat we booked was having repairs done, so we went out with Francisco on a comparable boat instead, no problem. Wanted a marlin, but the captain warned the bite has been bad, and recommended staying inshore for mackerels and roosterfish where we could have a lot of action, but we had done that the day before, so we said we wanted to at least try. Saw 2 marlins, no bites, but at the end of the day we caught a mahi mahi and a hammerhead shark to salvage the trip. Super fun, nice guys, knowledgable, comfortable boat. Hope to come back in warmer temps to get the marlin that has been eluding us! Slow day was on us, the trip met expectations. Would absolutely recommend.

Went fishing with El Budster Pride southwest of Cabo San Lucas in early January. Never fished marlin before. I was impressed by the captain Salvador Nunez. He handled the boat brilliantly in rough seas and was very focussed looking for fish. Ismail the deckhand handled the gear and me just as well. Between the two I knew I was in good hands. Right away we got into some skipjack tuna. Then we headed southwest offshore and a striped marlin took one of the back lines. About 30 minutes later the marlin was in the boat. Then we got a dorado, followed by eight yellowfin tuna. I felt a bit sore after reeling in more than twenty fish. These guys are the reel deal. I would definitely fish with them again.
