We had a couples trip planned with a couple of friends. I really wanted to go deep sea fishing with my wife since I missed an opportunity on vacation when we married 10+ years ago. Captain Nelson made everything worry free by having great communication and picking us up to go to the boat. We spent 8+ hours on the water and ended up landing only 1 barracuda. But Captain Nelson and his first mate Jacob kept us fed and hydrated. I unfortunately spent most of the time throwing up on some of the calmest ocean waters ive seen. Captain & Jacob were very nice making sure to grab me a water and napkins after ever trip to the back of the boat.

Captain Nelson felt so bad that we had such little luck he offered to take us out again the next day. We declined due to my weak stomach issues. Instead, he insisted in taking us on a tour of Puerto Plata instead. He spent 6hrs taking us to a bunch of spots while giving his great insight on attractions, shopping and how to not get taken advantage of while dealing with local shops. 10 out of 10. A+. Absolutely amazing customer service. He WILL make sure you get your monies worth and you’ll enjoy every minute of it. If you book anywhere else in Puerto Plata, you’re missing out.

I seldom take a vacation without doing a Deep Sea Fishing day and was extremely satisfied with this trip. The boat was one of the nicest boats I have had in all of my fishing experiences and the pricing was very competitive. We did a private half day charter and would recommend that to anyone who enjoys fishing.

The crew was very friendly and made the slow parts of the day fun!

We caught Mahi Mahi & Barracuda.

We had a great time on two trips aboard the High Zs we started off the first trip catching 2 decent size mahi mahi alongside missing another big fish. The captain and mate worked hard to do everything they could in order to put us on the fish as well make sure everyone on board was having a great time. We also were able to cook up our fish when we got back to the dock. I highly recommend booking a trip!

i did a 4-hr trip with Capt Nelson and it was by far the best guided fishing experience I have had! He asked me specifically what I wanted to get out of the day, gave great information on what they were looking for and how to find the fish and BAM we were on them. I wasn’t even done reeling in one when they were handing me another pole with a catch on it! Caught Mahi Mahi and Barracuda and had a Marlin on the line but it got away.  As Capt Nelson says “we’re not fishing, we’re catching”!  I will be back to catch that Marlin.  Thanks for a great day!!!

Out of the 3 boats one caught a single barracuda, rolling seas of ~4-6’ waves and 4-5sec break made for a tough day out on the water. That said, capt and first mate made the trip as great of an experience you could have. Cold drinks, snacks, and fresh fruit was a great touch. We’ll be back and will definitely be using High Z’s and Capt Nelson’s crew!
