There were 4 of us on the boat and all of were catching fish the entire day.  Chris was great with all aspects, getting the bait on the hooks, telling us where to cast and taking the fish off the hook.  I would highly recommend this captain for anyone looking for a great day of fishing here in the Tampa Bay area.

Poor weather forced into a plan B scenario. Fortunately Capt. Camps’ B scenario is as good as it gets.  The 2 of us caught at least 40 fish each.  We both caught Redfish, Snook and Trout.  We caught lots of Snapper including some real sizable fish.  We also boated a small shark and an assortment of other species as well , 11 in all.  We have been fishing off the beaches and piers during our Florida vacations for several years.  Capt. Camps not only set us up to catch fish that day he was also kind enough to demonstrate terminal tackle connections and advise on ways to improve our beach and pier fishing.  After fishing just one day with Capt. Camps our daily catch on our own has more than doubled.  I highly recommend Capt. Camps for anyone looking for a high quality fishing experience.

My wife’s stepfather David, my son Nolan and I went fishing with Capt. Camp on Friday August 7th 2015 on a half day trip.  We had a fantastic time with great weather and lots of fish.  The boat was perfect for what we needed in Tampa Bay and Chris was a great help and very positive captain.  We caught over 50 fish.  Snook, Red Fish, Lady Fish, crazy aggressive Cat Fish, and even Tarpon.  Nolan and David each had a Slam catching a Snook, Red Fish and a Tarpon on the trip. We will be looking up Captain Camp next time we are over that way for vacation.  Fishing is better than working, but CATCHING is better than Fishing.  Thanks Chris!  Andrew Vargo

I called Capt. Chris when at the last minute, I had a business trip to the area and was going to have a little time to fish.  I had originally planned on chasing tarpon… When I called the first time, I got voicemail and the message was promptly returned… after that, we communicated by text, phone and email…  Chris let me know that the tarpon fishing had slowed significantly the last couple of days and while he would gladly take me, there was slim chance of having success…  bait was getting tough to find and the new moon had sent the tarpon away for a period…  his suggestion was we find some inshore action instead.  If I wanted to “grind out” a day chasing ‘poon, he would oblige.  I took his suggestion and we decided to look for some snook…  and we had a terrific time!  We found the fish on our second stop and in the next 2 hours or so, we landed approximately 40 snook…  along with a random shark or three… It was a lot of fun.  Having our fill of snook, we decided to just take a look at a tarpon spot or two.  (I really wanted to scratch that itch!) we left the snook hole and went searching for silver kings…  we found a few small fish rolling but had no luck jumping any, and as the time was getting short, we called it quits and headed for home…  I really enjoyed my day with Capt. Chris… he was friendly, engaging, and educating… I have already recommended him to friends and will do so again!  Thanks!

I spent three days fishing with Capt. Camps for tarpon on June 2-4. Each morning we collected bait for the days fishing. The first day the weather was rough with lightning and wind but Chris kept us ahead of the storm and we were able to fish.We fished around the Skyway Bridge and we caught grouper,jacks and landed a nice 110 lb. tarpon. The second day we couldn’t buy a bite but we were in tarpon all day. I will give Chris an “A” for his effort. The third and final day Chris made some changes to our tactics and we landed two tarpon. They were nice fish on was over 7 feet long approx. 150 lbs and the other was over a hundred. Tarpon really put a fight over an hour to land them. Capt. Camps respects the fish and every effort is made to release the fish unharmed. His boat and equipment are in great shape, we were three for three on tarpon and I saw numerous fish hooked up on other boats but they lost most of them in the first few minutes. This was my first experience fishing with a charter captain and I couldn’t have picked a better one.I would recommend Captain Camps and I will be fishing with him again in the near future!
