If you’re looking for a friendly, all smiles, captain who’s going to hold your hand while you fish, this isn’t the trip for you. If you want to catch fish, if you listen to what the captain says and not ask stupid questions then this maybe the trip for you. The captain is short tempered and gruff just like most of the good captains I’ve fished with, so it’s your call. Is this a social trip or do you want to catch fish?

I disagree with your opinion on me and wonder that since you find the same traits with “all the good captains” that it might be your expectations and not the crew. Fishing guides are serious about catching fish. They do their best to get customers on fish and to point out angler mistakes so that they can be corrected by the angler. Fishing in Puget Sound requires barbless hooks and anglers not experienced with barbless hooks can lose a lot of fish. I try to point out the errors and correct them. It’s not personal. It’s just fishing.

Boat Captain was great, enabled us to have a very sun and successful half day even with some rough water.
