Captain John was great to work with. He was very friendly, meeting us in the parking lot after sending us precise direction to the dock. We booked the 1/2 day trip last minute and were lucky to have found the Maritime Mayhem. John held a safety briefing before we left the dock and was a patient teacher to the kids while sharing stories of fishing and his career in the Navy. We fished on the river so the water was calm and we did pretty well catching spot. The hits slowed down so John moved us to another area where we did well. A great day fishing for the family.

Good experience. My family and I (including 2 little kids and my 80 year old dad) joined Capt John and Mate James aboard the ship. They were all setup and ready to roll when we arrived a few minutes early. A very professional operation. Good equipment and nice, big boat. We weren’t caching any fish for awhile and both the Capt and Mate were super bummed. You could tell how seriously they take their profession and how badly they wanted us to start catching fish. As the day wore down, we found a few stripers which thrilled my kids and made the wait worth it. John and James run a great operation and it’s a super way to spend a special day. Highly recommend.

This was a perfect trip for the whole family! Capt John is attentive and really loves what he does and it shows! Everything was clean and organized and every detail he could do to tailor the experience was done. We had a great time just fishing and telling stories and when it was too hot or we just needed a break the cabin was cool and comfortable like a home away from home. We’ll be coming back to ride with him again!!!

We did some bottom fishing and live bait fishing.Caught a lot of spot and a stingray that was 3’ wide and probably 45 lbs or more. Lots of fun. Good conversations with John Satterly. Hope to catch up with him for some Cobia fishing next June

We decided to introduce our children, 8 and 6, to fishing with some easy bottom fishing. We caught over 200 fish without any effort. My son, who is autistic, was more than happy to get out of the heat and enjoy the comfort of the cabin often. The boat was safe and very capable, the captain was top notch. Not only would I emphatically recommend to families, but we will definitely be repeat customers as now my daughter has a love for fishing and can’t wait to go back.
