On Saturday 25 June we welcomed honeymooner Eddie Krauth from Buford, Georgia aboard GOOD DAY. We headed offshore and no sooner had we got there we found lots of birds, weed lines and before we knew it encountered the first big pod of spinner dolphins. Eddie got to work fast landing 3 nice Yellow Fin Tuna in the first hour. The bite slowed a little so we moved further offshore & it wasn't long before we had a Sailfish in the spread & after a really nice fight with lots of jumps Eddie had his first ever Sailfish alongside the boat! High fives all round! We then found a different pod of Spinner Dolphins and on our first pass of the school hooked into a really nice fish which we thought was a Tuna but had no idea for the next 15 minutes until it was brought to the boat. A stunning 66lb Yellow Fin popped up which really made the day! Eddie added another small tuna to that and a few of Costa Rica's finest beers to make for a fishing trip that he will not forget for a while! We ended the day with 5 Yellow Fin Tuna up to 66lb & a Sailfish. Eddie & his Wife Autumn ate like King & Queen that night with the lovely Tuna steaks they took to a local restaurant. Really awesome day and we had a blast!
